Reimagine Retirement:
More Than Money, It’s Your Story
Step beyond the paycheck and start writing your next chapter — your story is only beginning. Craft a retirement bursting with purpose, passion, and possibility.
What’s Next?
Do you ever wonder what's next? What happens when you decide to "retire" or leave the working life you now know?
You poured everything into your career and you eagerly await the day when you can exit the daily grind, ignore the meetings and deadlines, leave the exhaustion behind, and say "see 'ya later!" to all of it. You might not be ready to stop working. You just don't want to work as much. You still have more to give and offer. Do you consider how you might enjoy more fulfillment in replacement of the daily grind?
You have a grasp on your financial future, you've been retirement planning for years. On the other hand, financial security is only part of what you desire. You also hope to blissfully live out your Golden Years, the best years of your life, and the reason for your financial discipline. You might have a hankering for a life of leisure, to play golf, sit on the beach, or take naps every day. Or maybe you fancy exploring the world and traveling to lands unseen. You long for the freedom and flexibility to do what you want, when you want. You crave fulfillment and joy during the prime of your life. You earned it!
Retirement Reinvented: A New Life Awaits
(it’s more than money AND more than naps, golf, or travel)
How Ready Are You?
Your next chapter could be your greatest adventure.
“Pretirement” Planning
Just as your retirement planning (financial) requires you to develop a strategy to have money in your Golden Years, your "Pretirement" Planning (non-financial) also requires a smart strategy to move forward when you start to write your next life chapter. Your fulfillment, your ability to fully "live" in your Golden Years, depends on a strategy for the money AND everything else.
Leaving the 9-to-5 is about much more than money. Now YOU are in control. You get to make choices that enable you to live intentionally and not “by default.”
The best is yet to come!
The Four Elements of a Reimagined Retirement
-
Your Story
Who you are beyond your career and the next chapter you're writing.
Retirement is not the end of your story - it’s the start of a new chapter. Who are you beyond your job title? What values, interests, and experiences shape your identity now? This is your chance to rediscover yourself and create the life you want to live.
-
Your Spark
What excites, energizes, and gives meaning to your days.
A fulfilling retirement isn’t just about stepping away from work - it’s about stepping into what excites and energizes you. What brings you joy? What challenges make you feel alive? Whether it’s volunteering, mentoring, creating, exploring, or learning new skills, your spark fuels your next adventure.
-
Your Rhythm
The flow of your daily life, balancing adventure and intention.
Without the routine of work, how will you spend your days? Will you wake up with purpose or drift aimlessly? Retirement is your chance to create a rhythm that balances spontaneity with meaningful structure, ensuring each day feels rich and fulfilling.
-
Your People
The relationships and community that keep you connected and thriving.
Life is richer when shared. Who will you spend your time with? How will you maintain deep, meaningful relationships and build new connections? Your people - whether family, friends, or a community - are the key to making your next chapter one filled with joy and engagement.
From Work Mode to Life Mode
Hello! I’m Mark!
I believe that we need to redefine retirement and reimagine life "after work.” How can we spend our days in more meaningful ways? Do we even need to stop working?
As I get older, I find that too many people do not think about the non-financial aspects of retirement. Instead, it's all about the money. Yes, that's certainly a factor, but not the only one. Financial and wealth advisors do an amazing job helping their clients invest and amass enough wealth to live comfortably in their Golden Years. Not enough financial professionals help their clients prepare for the non-financial aspects of working less or stopping work altogether. Once the honeymoon phase ends, roughly one or two years after "retiring," people wonder "what's next?" and feel lost.
I complement traditional retirement planning. I call it "pretirement" planning!
My clients gain clarity about who they are (or who they want to be) and what comes next after their work life changes and they "retire" or sell a business. They expect to "live happily ever after" because they have a financial plan. Too often, they are missing a "life" plan and find themselves asking "what do I do now?". Together, we navigate a major life transition that includes reframing identity, cultivating purpose, building social connections, and producing structure. My clients have a grasp on their financial future and desire guidance to navigate the non-financial landscape. I help them to explore new beginnings and create a plan to live life on purpose, with purpose, and with more fulfillment and joy.
My professional life encompasses over 30 years of corporate experience in technology and software development across multiple industries. I recently embarked on a life transition and left the corporate world to focus on helping others navigate their own transitions and enjoy more fulfillment, especially as they prepare for and enter the next phase of their life. I continue to make intentional choices in my life, from financial investments to life investments. These choices enable me to live my best life! You can, too!
I am a recovering perfectionist who values family, fun, freedom, trust, integrity, positivity, and kindness. I love music, fitness, the outdoors, personal growth, craft beer, and ice cream. 🍨
